WEBI've read a zillion 'seat' threads and it's all starting to blend together. Wulf's measurements show the gel seat to be 1.5" higher than 650 stock. WEB57 posts · Joined 2018. #7 · Jul 12, 2019. I've started on a V-Strom 650 and in my opinion it's a good beginner bike, especially if you're tall. The engine is docile and easy to control, so the bike shouldn't scare you if you don't twist the throttle hard. One possible downside is that it is quite heavy.

WEBBike: 2004 vstrom 650. 28,000 miles. I recently made a move from the stock sprockets (15-47) to a (16-44) I wanted less rpm at 65-70 mph as well as extend 1st gear. Lessen short shifting. I was worried that it was too steep a move and take off in 1st would be sluggish and a lot of strain on engine and clutch. It is NOT. What a pleasant surprise.

RCACS has over 260,000 km (over 161,500 miles) on his. I think he just changed the cam chain tensioner. (My 2012 has about 113,000 km or over 70,000 miles.) ..Tom.
