WEBDuke 390 overheating. So the bike's temp gauge ticked above the normal line and the fan wouldn't turn off. Bike only has 5k miles on it for a 2017, doubt the coolant is bad thinking I need either a new sensor or thermostat. The bike turns on and stays running, it did turn off on me on the way home but started up and was able to make it home.

WEBJust gently turn to the right until the end. Then you start turning the fork adjusters to the left and count the "clicks". The default setting for both adjusters on the fork is 15 clicks. On the shock is 10 clicks. There is a sticker on the fuel tank (under the seat) that tells you the other optional recommended suspension settings.

WEBHowever there is another issue and that is, the 390 Duke mirrors are different lengths, the RH one is longer. So if you fit alternative mirrors the RH one doesn't stick out as far. It's not possible to adjust, you can move the LHS mount inwards a little so they match. But it's not that noticeable and the 1290 mirrors work well. Looks good.

WEBNormally a street bike has a stroke of 110 to 130mm in each wheel. Funny that Duke 390 has 150 mm on both wheels. At the first time 20 mm may not appear too much but in this case make a huge difference. Not an off-road bike but give us a better tools regarding others street bikes. May be off-road dna speaking.

WEBJust for info, when there is a problem with "hard" gearing, first check for loose clutch cable (like vinay said), if not check the clutch discs for normal operation by stripping the clutch. If clutch and cable are ok, might be the asteroid sprocket under the shift lever (specially if you have problems gear up from 1st to 2nd gear.

WEBUse distilled water with a little white vinegar, run the engine till fan comes on (and off perhaps 2x) Let the engine cool and flush completely before putting in the new coolant. Obviously you will need to fix the leak first. Another option could be a "waterless" coolant such as Evens Waterless.

I've been wondering about the differences in the exhausts on the Duke 200 and the Duke 390, only on the section of the pipe to replace the cat. I've looked at a few kits for the Duke 200, but have no idea if the pipe diameter is the same. I'm guessing it isn't, but thought I'd ask regardless!
